Place vintage plates - and yes, please DO mix and match patterns and colors - in a crate or basket for guests to use at the buffet table. Not only will you be saving a tree, but vintage pieces are the ultimate in recycling. Vintage transferware can be found at lots of places and for reasonable prices: brick and mortar stores, like Vintage Scout; flea markets; Ebay and Etsy. Try adding in vintage glassware and silverplate, too, for a fun and fabulous table.
